There are numerous benefits to swimming, exercising, soaking, and playing in water. Just being around water is soothing to the soul. Unfortunately, in far too many swimming pools, the poor water quality offsets or negates the benefits. Respiratory illness, dry skin, rashes, unpleasant odors, and even waterborne intestinal illness are far too common.

I began servicing swimming pools in 1988, and early on in my career, the more I learned about chlorine chemistry the more I came to question the way pools were cared for. The common practice of adding a week’s worth of chemicals at once was leading to unacceptably poor water quality.

Around then, I discovered the enormous potential of using ozone in the pool. Chlorine usage dropped significantly in my ozone pools, chlorine byproducts (chloramines) were eliminated, and water clarity soared.
Shortly thereafter, I discovered automated systems that microdose small amounts of chlorine (or hydrogen peroxide) and control the pH at a steady level. When used together, the water is always safe regardless of bather load, temperature, or any other factor.

The Live Chlorine Free system is the result of a more than 20-year love of ozonated water. Over that time and over 100 system installations, my system has been refined to be the most advanced comprehensive fully automated water treatment system for pools, spas, and water features. The system allows for an 80-100% reduction in chlorine use and eliminates the formation of chloramines and other chlorine by-products.
